Repurposing Diapers for the Garden
Composting is all the rage in the garden – to not only feed your plants rich nutrients, but be environmentally friendly by repurposing nature. Now there is a solution for what otherwise takes 500 years to break down in landfills – the 27 billion diapers used in the US each year! Linda Naerheim’s company Elements Naturals has come up with the first 100% compostable diaper, made from plant based starch that even if not composted won’t take forever to break down. They are already available in Europe and soon in the US this summer. Linda talks about why she wanted this new diaper that goes from bottom to garden to become a reality!
