Celebrating Marsala, Pantone’s Color of the Year.
2015 is fast approaching, and you know what that means–Pantone’s release of the color of the year! The Pantone Color Institute is an incredibly influential force in the design world, specializing in trend forecasting and color consulting. Recently, Pantone has unveiled “marsala” as the color of 2015, a hearty color named for its wine-flavored tinge.
For this color palette, we put Pantone’s color of 2015 to the forefront by making a marsala-flavored parlor look. Indulge your senses in this inspired, warm color!
Seating
We’ll begin with this marsala-upholstered sofa: it’s big, comfy, and has a sweet, warm color. Pair it with this scarlet tufted armchair, which has a similar color and upholstered look. For something different, we’ve included a wheeled brown leather armchair, which would look great at a desk or a card table.
Surface
We love this wooden bar cabinet thanks to its classy look and much-needed storage space for entertaining guests–and it fits the parlor look we’re going for perfectly. This Oriental wood trunk, meanwhile, adds a little exoticism to the room, with such beautiful craftsmanship. Finally, we’ve included this cute and classic front desk for hiding away small treasures, stationary or books.
Worldly Delights
The design of this round oriental rug is mesmerizing and beautiful, and we want it! It looks great with the trunk listed above and our marsala seating options. For a sophisticated tchotske, look no further than this beige globe of the world, contributing to a studylike feel.
Wine-Tinged Beauty
We love the deep scarlet color of these blackout velvet curtains–perfect for controlling the amount of sunlight in our parlor room. And because we’re never without a having a plant, we’re throwing in these artificial silk burgundy peonies.
