A strategic, puzzling bathroom palette.
This color palette is inspired by a classic game: chess! Similar to our “rock ‘n’ roll” bathroom, this look is largely neutral–but this time around we’ve got a mix of high-class pieces and outrageously modern fashions. And of course, there are chess pieces galore. Strategize your game by checking out this palette below!
All Over Brass
This palette is largely neutral with black, white and gray, so first we’ll show off the bold, brassy finishes that you’ll find here. Check out these beautiful brassy wall lights for over the vanity. We love the refined look and soft glow. For a little more class, we’ve included this standing brass toilet paper holder. Immaculate and a little fancy, we love it! For a little green, put some succulents in this geometric glass terrarium with a golden, brassy-colored finish.
A huge inspiration for this look is the chess motif, so of course you need some chess pieces to populate the space. Fill up dead space above the toilet or the towel rack with vinyl chess piece wall decals. You can get them in black or white–do both or choose one depending on your wall color. For fun tchotskes to put on the countertop, windowsills, shelving and other surfaces, invest in some spare metallic chess pieces. You can find these easily on places like eBay. We recommend metallic ones since they’ll fit the brassy look of the room.
Patterns & Textiles
This shower curtain is a chess board like you’ve never seen before! We love the modernized look to a simple, overdone pattern–and think it injects a fresh tone to the overall look. We incorporate more crazy geometry with this yellow and gray area rug, again playing with square patterns while complimenting the yellows and brass in the room.
For the Vanity
These lacquer black bath accessories are simple and neutral, allowing the focus to fall on the more eye-catching inclusions. Another clean and simple feature is our choice of a white resin bathtub, easy on the eye and oh-so-comfortable.
