Chocolate Chip Bars


  1. ¾ cup Brown sugar
  2. ½ cup Melted butter
  3. 2 Eggs beaten
  4. 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  5. ½ teaspoon Almond extract
  6. ¾ cup chopped walnuts
  7. One 6 oz pkg of semi-sweet chocolate chips
  8. ½ cup flour
  9. ½ teaspoon baking powder
  10. ¼ teaspoon salt
  11. powdered sugar to sprinkle on top


  1. In a mixing bowl, combine sugar, butter, eggs, vanilla and almond extract; stir until well blended.
  2. Add chocolate chips, walnuts, flour, baking powder and salt; blend well.
  3. Pour batter into a greased 8-inch square baking dish.
  4. In GE Advantium speed cook oven, place a dish on black metal tray to cook.
  5. Cook for 17 to 20 minutes at U=med, L=Hi or until golden brown.
  6. Cool on wire rack.
  7. Sprinkle with powdered sugar and cut into bars.
