From Angelina Guzman – Mixologist at Rosa Mexicano, Los Angeles

Here is the recipe for the Margarita you heard on air – The secret is Agave Nectar which has far less sugar and carbohydrates than pre-mixed marg mix!

Rosa Mexicano’s Classic Margarita:

Per serving:

2 oz. Hornitos Tequila

2 oz. Fresh Squeezed Lime Juice – Try Whole Foods/Trader Joes

1 oz. Agave Nectar ( Whole Foods/Trader Joes )

1 oz. warm water  ( mix with nectar to dilute the honey like consistency before adding to shaker)


Fill shaker 2/3 with ice ( crushed preferred)

Add all of the above ingredients to shaker and shake it up.

Rub slice of lime around rim of glass and dunk in margarita salt

Now pour over ice or martini style!
